Liberty Theatres owns and operates two Off-Broadway theatres: the 347-seat Orpheum Theatre in the East Village and the 391-seat Minetta Lane Theatre in the West Village and the Royal George Theatre in Chicago until it was sold in June 2021.

These venues offer a diverse array of productions, from long-running Off-Broadway and pre-Broadway productions to unique theatrical events. They are also used for rehearsals, staged readings, special events, film shoots, conferences, and corporate events and meetings.

Margaret Cotter is the president of Liberty Theatres, LLC, which owns and operates New York’s Orpheum and Minetta Lane Theatres.  She has operated the theatres and booked all productions at the venues for over 24 years. Prior to her current role in theatre management, Margaret practiced law in New York. She is also a former long-term board member of the League of Off-Broadway Theatres and Producers.
